TIME TO GET PUBLISHED

Alex Walters is the author of fourteen published novels, including crime series set in Manchester and the Peak District, the Scottish Highlands and contemporary Mongolia.

Since publishing his first book, The Shadow Walker, in 2006, Alex has built a successful writing career, using a range of approaches to enable him to develop a diverse range of series.

He has been published both by the major 'big 5' publishers and by independents, and has extensive experience of the benefits and disadvantages of the different approaches. He has been represented throughout his writing career by a literary agency, but has also (with the agent's agreement) submitted directly to publishers and has self-published. This 'hybrid' approach has enabled him both to achieve commercial success and to stretch the range and diversity of his writing. His books have been Kindle 'top 100' and category best sellers, and have been translated into various languages.

Alex now lives on the Black Isle in the Scottish Highlands where he runs a writing retreat with his wife, advising new and experienced writers both on writing technique and on routes to publication. As a result of his career as a writer and having seen different approaches to publishing, Alex is dedicated to helping fellow writers get published, in whichever form best suits their writing and their personal aspirations.
